PROPERTY TAX RESEARCH, MADE SIMPLER
Snohomish County, Washington
Where to look, which office to contact, and how to request records.
Where to obtain records
Snohomish County Treasurer’s Office
Official published tax-record and foreclosure-record access guidanceHow to find the information
Start with Commonly Requested Records: Current Tax List, marked updated October 1, 2026, and its field description. Foreclosure archives separately contain certificates, publications, orders, returns and excess-funds lists. The county warns archive lists are not current sale inventory. Other requests use its records portal; requests containing lists of individuals require its declaration. Foreclosure excess-funds inquiries go to 425-388-3606. Mortgage/trustee or sheriff-sale surplus records are separate from Treasurer tax-foreclosure funds.
Identify the real-property parcel/account number, tax years, levies or special assessments and desired as-of date. Request the existing unpaid ledger or dated tax statement with included payments, interest and enforcement costs. A normal bill, assessed-value record, foreclosure certificate, dated bid list, completed-sale result and county-held tax-title inventory are different records. For foreclosure, ask for the court case, notice, applicable redemption calculation and payment cutoff. Excess/surplus sale proceeds are a funds/distribution record, distinct from surplus real property. Ask the Treasurer to identify any separate district or court custodian and confirm the available existing format and copy/certification cost before ordering.
What to ask for
“I am looking for publicly available delinquent real-property tax records for Snohomish County for [tax year]. Which office maintains these records? Is there an online search or downloadable list? If not, how can I request a copy, and what fees apply?”
Have the property address, parcel number, owner name, and tax year ready when searching for a particular property.
County-specific notes
Verified means reviewed published access instructions, including dated foreclosure documents or expressly described staff-assisted records; no taxpayer query tested. Reviewed October 29, 2026. Check every source/file date and the applicable record stage; a scheduled, postponed or absent auction does not establish all accounts’ tax status. County lists and ordinary portal balances may omit later costs or recent payments. No taxpayer searches, logins, registrations, record requests, payments, declarations or owner-list republication performed.
