Discovery & Collections publishes a Top 20 Delinquent Real Estate Accounts report through tax year 2023; it is a selected historical subset, not all delinquent accounts. The page distinguishes real-estate referral to TACS from vehicle/business referral to another collector. Contact the city’s delinquent-tax service for the existing complete ledger, later payments and referred costs.
Identify the locality, real-property parcel/map or account number, tax years and desired as-of date. Ask for the existing unpaid real-estate collection ledger or dated statement, with the included levies, payments and later costs. Ordinary bills, payment history, assessment land books and yearly taxes-paid summaries have different scope. For a sale, request the dated notice, case number, sale/confirmation record and the appropriate redemption or payoff calculation; ask the collector to identify the special commissioner or Circuit Court custodian. Surplus/excess proceeds are a separate distribution or funds record. Confirm the judicial or nonjudicial procedure and record custodian; do not assume a post-sale redemption period. Incorporated-town levies may require a second collector. Ask for the available existing format and a cost estimate before ordering.
