Where to obtain records
Franklin County municipal routing; example: Richford Delinquent Tax Collector / Clerk-Treasurer
Example: Richford tax-records guidanceHow to find the information
Property-tax records are local. The example below covers Richford only. For a different municipality in Franklin County, use the Office website link to the state municipal directory, identify the city/town where the parcel lies, and ask its clerk or treasurer for the responsible delinquent-tax collector.
For Richford property, use its Municipal Directory. It lists the Clerk/Treasurer and Delinquent Tax Collector at extension 3. Ask that office for the existing delinquent real-property report or year-by-year account history rather than a general assessed-property list.
Request an existing delinquent real-property report, year-by-year account history or current payoff, giving the municipality, parcel/account identifier if known, tax years, desired as-of date and preferred inspection or electronic-copy format. Ask which existing record is available and obtain an estimate for copies, extracts or certification before ordering.
What to ask for
“I am looking for publicly available delinquent real-property tax records for Franklin County for [tax year]. Which office maintains these records? Is there an online search or downloadable list? If not, how can I request a copy, and what fees apply?”
Have the property address, parcel number, owner name, and tax year ready when searching for a particular property.
County-specific notes
The same directory assigns other extensions to listers, zoning and administration; those are different records functions. Richford is one reviewed example in Franklin County. Saint Albans City and Saint Albans Town are separate municipalities; identify the correct one in the state directory before requesting those accounts. Office website: January 2026 state municipal directory. Choose local contacts rather than the separate county-clerk list. Source review verifies access guidance, not taxpayer liability. No taxpayer query, payment, registration or records-request submission was made; no owner-level rows are republished.
