Where to obtain records
Bell Central Appraisal District — Collections
Official published tax-record access guidanceHow to find the information
Bell CAD says it collects for all Bell County taxing units. Its Collections Data portal separates all-year delinquent files, a prior-year file excluding the current year and a current-year paid/unpaid file. Listed July 2026 downloads are dated snapshots. The account-cart disclaimer warns that delinquencies beyond five years, partial payments and contracts may not be fully reflected. Contact Collections for the complete dated account record. Tax sales occur several times a year rather than necessarily monthly.
Identify the real-property account/parcel, taxing units, tax years and desired as-of date. Request the existing unpaid collection ledger or dated statement, not an appraisal-value report. Ask which levies, payments, penalty/interest and attorney costs are included. Dated foreclosure/resale lists, court files, post-sale redemption calculations and excess-proceeds records are separate: ask the collector to identify the relevant sheriff/constable, district clerk or other custodian. Do not assume a sale list contains all delinquent accounts or all amounts needed to redeem. Ask about existing electronic records, inspection and published copy/certification prices before ordering; a custom extract is not promised.
What to ask for
“I am looking for publicly available delinquent real-property tax records for Bell County for [tax year]. Which office maintains these records? Is there an online search or downloadable list? If not, how can I request a copy, and what fees apply?”
Have the property address, parcel number, owner name, and tax year ready when searching for a particular property.
County-specific notes
Verified means published access instructions reviewed; no taxpayer query tested. Reviewed October 28, 2026. Comptroller contact listings are updated as reported and may carry older section dates; no phone call was made. Active taxing units are not necessarily consolidated collection clients. Ordinary bills, delinquent accounts, sale publications, redemption and surplus proceeds have different scope. No taxpayer searches, logins, registrations, record requests, payments or owner-list republication were performed.
