PROPERTY TAX RESEARCH, MADE SIMPLER
Walworth County, South Dakota
Where to look, which office to contact, and how to request records.
Where to obtain records
Walworth County Treasurer / Property Tax
County office contact guidanceContact the office for delinquent property tax records. This guide does not confirm an online search or current bill list.
How to find the information
The county’s current Treasurer page publishes 605-649-7737 and PO Box 325, Selby. Use that office to establish the current inspection/copy route for an existing unpaid report, statement or parcel ledger.
To request an existing delinquent real-property report, parcel account/payment ledger, bill copy or dated redemption/payoff calculation, provide the county parcel/Tax ID if known, tax years and payable years, desired as-of date and preferred inspection or electronic-copy format. Ask whether the record includes special assessments, tax certificates, interest, penalties and costs. Confirm any copy, certification or extract charge and ask for an existing report rather than assuming the office creates custom lists. A valuation, payment screen, dated publication or tax-deed record does not certify today’s unpaid balance.
What to ask for
“I am looking for publicly available delinquent real-property tax records for Walworth County for [tax year]. Which office maintains these records? Is there an online search or downloadable list? If not, how can I request a copy, and what fees apply?”
Have the property address, parcel number, owner name, and tax year ready when searching for a particular property.
County-specific notes
Contact status: a public online delinquency query or full extract was not confirmed. The older sdcounties.org department page lists different staff, so the county association-linked walworthco.org page is used; staff names are omitted from this guide. No taxpayer query, payment, account registration or records-request submission was made. No taxpayer rows or owner-list attachments are included in this import.
