Mellette County Treasurer / Property Tax
County office contact guidanceContact the office for delinquent property tax records. This guide does not confirm an online search or current bill list.
How to find the information
Treasurer publishes 605-259-3050 ext. 1 and PO Box 228, White River. Use this local extension to establish inspection or copy arrangements for an existing delinquent real-property report, bill or account history.
To request an existing delinquent real-property report, parcel account/payment ledger, bill copy or dated redemption/payoff calculation, provide the county parcel/Tax ID if known, tax years and payable years, desired as-of date and preferred inspection or electronic-copy format. Ask whether the record includes special assessments, tax certificates, interest, penalties and costs. Confirm any copy, certification or extract charge and ask for an existing report rather than assuming the office creates custom lists. A valuation, payment screen, dated publication or tax-deed record does not certify today’s unpaid balance.
What to ask for
“I am looking for publicly available delinquent real-property tax records for Mellette County for [tax year]. Which office maintains these records? Is there an online search or downloadable list? If not, how can I request a copy, and what fees apply?”
Have the property address, parcel number, owner name, and tax year ready when searching for a particular property.
County-specific notes
Contact status: the reviewed office page confirms the custodian and contact, but not a public online delinquency database or complete electronic extract. Forms/Permits navigation does not itself establish record availability. No taxpayer query, payment, account registration or records-request submission was made. No taxpayer rows or owner-list attachments are included in this import.
