How to find the information

Real Estate Taxes explicitly says property-tax amounts are not available online and can be obtained by contacting the Treasurer. It directs visitors to ask the office for current late-payment amounts and tax-certificate redemption amounts. Call 605-578-1862.

To request an existing delinquent real-property report, parcel account/payment ledger, bill copy or dated redemption/payoff calculation, provide the county parcel/Tax ID if known, tax years and payable years, desired as-of date and preferred inspection or electronic-copy format. Ask whether the record includes special assessments, tax certificates, interest, penalties and costs. Confirm any copy, certification or extract charge and ask for an existing report rather than assuming the office creates custom lists. A valuation, payment screen, dated publication or tax-deed record does not certify today’s unpaid balance.

What to ask for

“I am looking for publicly available delinquent real-property tax records for Lawrence County for [tax year]. Which office maintains these records? Is there an online search or downloadable list? If not, how can I request a copy, and what fees apply?”

Have the property address, parcel number, owner name, and tax year ready when searching for a particular property.

County-specific notes

The separate Phone & Online Payments page requires the parcel number and payment amount and directs delinquent-payoff inquiries to Treasury, including accrued interest, certificate and advertising fees. A payment service is not an online tax-amount database. The office phone is corroborated by the state Department of Revenue Treasurer directory; confirm the current property-tax counter. No taxpayer query, payment, account registration or records-request submission was made. No taxpayer rows or owner-list attachments are included in this import.

An independent directory, not a government agency.

We help you locate records; we do not store taxpayer lists, determine delinquency, collect taxes, or sell tax liens. Confirm balances, payment status, deadlines, and fees with the responsible office. A tax-sale list is not a complete list of delinquent accounts.
