Where to look, which office to contact, and how to request records.
Where to obtain records
Day County Treasurer / Property Tax
County office contact guidanceContact the office for delinquent property tax records. This guide does not confirm an online search or current bill list.
How to find the information
Treasurer’s Office publishes 605-345-9510 and an office at 711 West First Street, Suite 206, Webster. It distinguishes real-estate/mobile-home taxes and special assessments. Contact Treasury to establish the access method for an existing unpaid report or parcel history.
To request an existing delinquent real-property report, parcel account/payment ledger, bill copy or dated redemption/payoff calculation, provide the county parcel/Tax ID if known, tax years and payable years, desired as-of date and preferred inspection or electronic-copy format. Ask whether the record includes special assessments, tax certificates, interest, penalties and costs. Confirm any copy, certification or extract charge and ask for an existing report rather than assuming the office creates custom lists. A valuation, payment screen, dated publication or tax-deed record does not certify today’s unpaid balance.
What to ask for
“I am looking for publicly available delinquent real-property tax records for Day County for [tax year]. Which office maintains these records? Is there an online search or downloadable list? If not, how can I request a copy, and what fees apply?”
Have the property address, parcel number, owner name, and tax year ready when searching for a particular property.
County-specific notes
Contact status: collection guidance was reviewed, but a public online delinquency search and complete extract availability were not confirmed. Tax year and payable year differ; specify both when requesting history. No taxpayer query, payment, account registration or records-request submission was made. No taxpayer rows or owner-list attachments are included in this import.
