Lake County Treasurer
Official tax-record access and collection-stage guidanceHow to find the information
The Treasurer links a Payment Portal and says past-due bills are available. Its Delinquent Tax Division separates tax-lien sales, certificate purchasers, foreclosure, prorations and public records. The published delinquency-plan phone is 440-350-2473. A separately linked full-county extract dated January 30, 2024 is a historical snapshot, not current unpaid coverage. Ask for a dated ledger or payoff matching the account’s enforcement stage.
For an existing record request, identify the parcel, municipality/tax district, tax years and desired as-of date. Specify the unpaid collection ledger, dated delinquent publication, tax-lien/certificate record, foreclosure case, sale result, redemption calculation or surplus-proceeds record needed. Ask which taxes, assessments, penalties, interest and legal costs are included, and how later payments are posted. Ask the named office to identify the custodian for court files or excess proceeds. Request existing records and confirm inspection, electronic-copy, certification and extraction charges before ordering; do not assume a custom countywide report will be created.
What to ask for
“I am looking for publicly available delinquent real-property tax records for Lake County for [tax year]. Which office maintains these records? Is there an online search or downloadable list? If not, how can I request a copy, and what fees apply?”
Have the property address, parcel number, owner name, and tax year ready when searching for a particular property.
County-specific notes
Verified means published access instructions were reviewed, including explicit staff-assisted bill/ledger routes; no taxpayer query was tested. Reviewed October 29, 2026. An annual bill, certified delinquent list, lien sale, foreclosure, property sale, redemption and surplus record have different scope and dates. Confirm tax year versus payment year and later costs with the custodian. No taxpayer search, account registration, records request, payment or owner-list republication was performed.
