Where to obtain records
Towner County Treasurer / Property Tax
County tax-records access guidanceContact the office for delinquent property tax records. This guide does not confirm an online search or current bill list.
How to find the information
Treasurer publishes 701-968-4340 ext. 2001 and describes Certified Payments as an online payment route requiring an amount and parcel number. Contact Treasury for the current process to inspect or obtain an existing delinquent-tax report or ledger.
For an existing delinquent real-property report, parcel account/payment ledger, statement copy or dated payoff, provide the parcel/tax ID if known, tax years, desired as-of date and preferred inspection or electronic-copy format. Ask which principal taxes, interest, penalties, special assessments and costs are included and confirm any copy, certification or extract fee. A statement, recorded lien or sale notice does not certify today’s unpaid balance.
What to ask for
“I am looking for publicly available delinquent real-property tax records for Towner County for [tax year]. Which office maintains these records? Is there an online search or downloadable list? If not, how can I request a copy, and what fees apply?”
Have the property address, parcel number, owner name, and tax year ready when searching for a particular property.
County-specific notes
Contact status: payment instructions do not establish a public unpaid-account search. The office page includes older 2025 calendar wording; no current deadline or processing charge is adopted. Towner County is seated in Cando, not the city of Towner in McHenry County. No account registration, payment, taxpayer search, records-request submission or owner-list attachment download was performed. This import contains access guidance, not taxpayer rows.
