PROPERTY TAX RESEARCH, MADE SIMPLER
McLean County, North Dakota
Where to look, which office to contact, and how to request records.
Where to obtain records
McLean County Auditor/Treasurer / Property Tax
County tax-records access guidanceHow to find the information
The local Auditor page says the former Treasurer office was combined into Auditor in 2005 and provides 701-462-8801. Its responsibilities include collecting/disbursing tax money and providing information to lenders and the public. Use the combined office for current unpaid-account records.
For an existing delinquent real-property report, parcel account/payment ledger, statement copy or dated payoff, provide the parcel/tax ID if known, tax years, desired as-of date and preferred inspection or electronic-copy format. Ask which principal taxes, interest, penalties, special assessments and costs are included and confirm any copy, certification or extract fee. A statement, recorded lien or sale notice does not certify today’s unpaid balance.
What to ask for
“I am looking for publicly available delinquent real-property tax records for McLean County for [tax year]. Which office maintains these records? Is there an online search or downloadable list? If not, how can I request a copy, and what fees apply?”
Have the property address, parcel number, owner name, and tax year ready when searching for a particular property.
County-specific notes
The map directs to a Vanguard assessment search; those property values do not certify collection status. The local published combined-office line supersedes the different county-association individual contact. No account registration, payment, taxpayer search, records-request submission or owner-list attachment download was performed. This import contains access guidance, not taxpayer rows.
