PROPERTY TAX RESEARCH, MADE SIMPLER
Hettinger County, North Dakota
Where to look, which office to contact, and how to request records.
Where to obtain records
Hettinger County Auditor/Treasurer / Property Tax
County tax-records access guidanceHow to find the information
The county’s combined Auditor/Treasurer page says it oversees the delinquent-tax process and maintains records of county-owned property acquired through tax proceedings. Use the locally published 701-824-2515 line for existing delinquency records or the collection-account ledger.
For an existing delinquent real-property report, parcel account/payment ledger, statement copy or dated payoff, provide the parcel/tax ID if known, tax years, desired as-of date and preferred inspection or electronic-copy format. Ask which principal taxes, interest, penalties, special assessments and costs are included and confirm any copy, certification or extract fee. A statement, recorded lien or sale notice does not certify today’s unpaid balance.
What to ask for
“I am looking for publicly available delinquent real-property tax records for Hettinger County for [tax year]. Which office maintains these records? Is there an online search or downloadable list? If not, how can I request a copy, and what fees apply?”
Have the property address, parcel number, owner name, and tax year ready when searching for a particular property.
County-specific notes
Hettinger County’s seat is Mott; the city of Hettinger is in Adams County. The map’s assessment site and county-owned-property inventory have different scope from today’s unpaid accounts. The local phone supersedes the association’s different Treasurer contact. No account registration, payment, taxpayer search, records-request submission or owner-list attachment download was performed. This import contains access guidance, not taxpayer rows.
