Burlington County, New Jersey
Where to look, which office to contact, and how to request records.
Where to obtain records
Burlington County municipal routing; example: Medford Lakes Tax Collector
Medford Lakes tax-records guidance (municipal example)How to find the information
Start with the municipality where the parcel lies. New Jersey municipal collectors hold the local collection account, even when the bill includes county or school charges. The example below covers Medford Lakes only. For another place in Burlington County, use the Office website link to the state’s County and Municipal Web Sites directory, then confirm the municipality’s official collector and public-records custodian. That directory cautions that some listed sites may not be official.
For Medford Lakes Borough property, contact Office of the Tax Collector at extension 120. The borough links Pay My Taxes or Utility and explains that its annual municipal-lien sale may include taxes, sewer charges and property-maintenance fees.
For records beyond the published page, ask the responsible collector for an existing delinquent real-estate report, account/payment ledger or current lien-redemption calculation. Identify the municipality, block/lot/qualifier or tax-account ID, years, desired as-of date and preferred inspection/electronic-copy format. Ask whether tax, sewer, water and other municipal charges are separate. For a formal existing-records request, use that municipality’s records custodian/OPRA route; confirm any copying, extract or certification charges before ordering.
What to ask for
“I am looking for publicly available delinquent real-property tax records for Burlington County for [tax year]. Which office maintains these records? Is there an online search or downloadable list? If not, how can I request a copy, and what fees apply?”
Have the property address, parcel number, owner name, and tax year ready when searching for a particular property.
County-specific notes
Medford Lakes Borough and Medford Township are separate municipalities even though they share assessment services. A mixed municipal-lien list is not necessarily a property-tax-only delinquency list. Ask the borough collector for the requested real-property tax years and charge types; assessment records answer a different question. Reviewed status concerns source/access guidance, not certified taxpayer liability. Tax-sale notices, recorded liens, assessed values and current collector balances have different coverage. No taxpayer rows, sale-list attachments or account results are reproduced.
