How to find the information

Use Sullivan County’s Towns page to reach the relevant municipality; the page also includes the City of Claremont. Newport’s Finance & Taxation page is the reviewed example. Its Taxation number is 603-863-6407, distinct from Finance and utility-billing contacts. For current unpaid balances or an existing delinquent real-property report, request records from the responsible local collector. State the municipality/place, parcel or map/lot identifier if known, tax years, desired as-of date and preferred electronic-copy or inspection format. Ask about existing files and any copy/export or certification fees. For recorded liens, identify the owner name and approximate recording dates or known book/page, then check related releases and confirm present status with the collector. Newport example (only that municipality): https://newportnh.gov/1219/Finance-Taxation; phone 603-863-6407.

What to ask for

“I am looking for publicly available delinquent real-property tax records for Sullivan County for [tax year]. Which office maintains these records? Is there an online search or downloadable list? If not, how can I request a copy, and what fees apply?”

Have the property address, parcel number, owner name, and tax year ready when searching for a particular property.

County-specific notes

Newport’s service covers Newport, not the rest of Sullivan County. The Registry FAQ explains that recorded instruments are indexed by names/date rather than a street-address tax-account lookup, and that a lien remains in the historical index even after a related release is recorded. The Registry is at 14 Main Street, 2nd Floor, Newport. Its home page posts a $2 per printed page copy charge effective July 1, 2026, including in-house, Laredo and AVA prints. Confirm current scope and any other remote-service fees before ordering. New Hampshire generally collects property taxes municipally; a recorded lien is historical evidence and does not by itself certify a present unpaid balance. Reviewed status applies to access guidance only. No taxpayer query, payment, registration or records request was submitted, and no taxpayer rows are republished.

An independent directory, not a government agency.

We help you locate records; we do not store taxpayer lists, determine delinquency, collect taxes, or sell tax liens. Confirm balances, payment status, deadlines, and fees with the responsible office. A tax-sale list is not a complete list of delinquent accounts.
