PROPERTY TAX RESEARCH, MADE SIMPLER
Merrimack County, New Hampshire
Where to look, which office to contact, and how to request records.
Where to obtain records
Merrimack County local tax collectors; recorded liens: county Registry of Deeds
Find the municipality / local tax officeHow to find the information
Use the county’s Cities & Towns directory, then select the municipality and locate Tax Collection/Treasury. Many directory links lead to a Town Clerk page; confirm the tax-collection contact rather than assuming every clerk is the collector. For current unpaid balances or an existing delinquent real-property report, request records from the responsible local collector. State the municipality/place, parcel or map/lot identifier if known, tax years, desired as-of date and preferred electronic-copy or inspection format. Ask about existing files and any copy/export or certification fees. For recorded liens, identify the owner name and approximate recording dates or known book/page, then check related releases and confirm present status with the collector. Concord example (only that municipality): https://www.concordnh.gov/453/Property-Taxes-Treasury-Collections; phone 603-225-8540.
What to ask for
“I am looking for publicly available delinquent real-property tax records for Merrimack County for [tax year]. Which office maintains these records? Is there an online search or downloadable list? If not, how can I request a copy, and what fees apply?”
Have the property address, parcel number, owner name, and tax year ready when searching for a particular property.
County-specific notes
Concord’s Treasury/Collections page is the reviewed example and links property-tax bills through its online services. It covers Concord only. Merrimack County is a county; the separate Town of Merrimack belongs to Hillsborough County and its accounts must not be routed to Concord. The old merrimackcountydeedsnh.com landing page points to the current county Register of Deeds page used by the Office website link. That county page links Search Registry Records and publishes 603-228-0101; a registry search is a recorded-instrument route, not a current countywide tax-balance service. New Hampshire generally collects property taxes municipally; a recorded lien is historical evidence and does not by itself certify a present unpaid balance. Reviewed status applies to access guidance only. No taxpayer query, payment, registration or records request was submitted, and no taxpayer rows are republished.
