Where to obtain records

St. Louis County Auditor / Tax Division

Official county property-tax access guidance

How to find the information

St. Louis County’s Auditor page separates the Tax Division from accounting, elections and service-center licensing. Its published property-tax-payment FAQ distinguishes delinquency from later tax forfeiture and warns that older proceedings can require different verification. Ask the Auditor’s office at 218-726-2383 for the correct tax staff and an existing unpaid ledger or dated judgment/redemption record. The page’s 218-725-5060 is fax, not the tax help line.

For existing records, provide the parcel/account identifier, tax year and desired as-of date. Specify an unpaid collection ledger, dated delinquent publication, tax judgment, confession-of-judgment plan ledger, expiration-of-redemption notice or tax-forfeiture record. Ask which special assessments, penalties, interest, costs and later payments are included. Confirm inspection, electronic-copy, certification, tax-search and extract charges before ordering. Assessment/ownership data, an original bill and a forfeited-property sale inventory do not certify the complete current delinquent amount.

What to ask for

“I am looking for publicly available delinquent real-property tax records for St. Louis County for [tax year]. Which office maintains these records? Is there an online search or downloadable list? If not, how can I request a copy, and what fees apply?”

Have the property address, parcel number, owner name, and tax year ready when searching for a particular property.

County-specific notes

Verified denotes reviewed published access guidance, including an explicit office-only payoff route where applicable; it does not certify a tested account result. The published fax number is excluded from the phone field. Reviewed October 28, 2026. Published forms, directions and labels were reviewed without submitting taxpayer searches. Annual notices, statements, tax judgments, payment plans, state forfeiture and later sales concern different records. No account creation, record request, bidder enrollment or payment was performed. No taxpayer rows or owner-list attachments are included.

An independent directory, not a government agency.

We help you locate records; we do not store taxpayer lists, determine delinquency, collect taxes, or sell tax liens. Confirm balances, payment status, deadlines, and fees with the responsible office. A tax-sale list is not a complete list of delinquent accounts.
