Where to obtain records
Renville County Auditor-Treasurer
Official county property-tax access guidanceHow to find the information
Renville’s Auditor-Treasurer page links the Online Property Tax Portal and identifies the office as maintaining both current and delinquent real-estate records. It separately lists forfeiture-sale material, surplus notices and an expiration-of-redemption notice labeled May 1, 2026. Ask 320-523-2071 for an existing dated unpaid ledger or the particular later-stage record. Those publication categories and dates should not be combined into one current balance.
For existing records, provide the parcel/account identifier, tax year and desired as-of date. Specify an unpaid collection ledger, dated delinquent publication, tax judgment, confession-of-judgment plan ledger, expiration-of-redemption notice or tax-forfeiture record. Ask which special assessments, penalties, interest, costs and later payments are included. Confirm inspection, electronic-copy, certification, tax-search and extract charges before ordering. Assessment/ownership data, an original bill and a forfeited-property sale inventory do not certify the complete current delinquent amount.
What to ask for
“I am looking for publicly available delinquent real-property tax records for Renville County for [tax year]. Which office maintains these records? Is there an online search or downloadable list? If not, how can I request a copy, and what fees apply?”
Have the property address, parcel number, owner name, and tax year ready when searching for a particular property.
