Official county property-tax access guidanceHow to find the information
Olmsted’s online tax-payment welcome page directs prior-year delinquent-tax questions to Property Records and Licensing at 507-328-7636. Its Property Taxes guide separately covers ordinary statements, an estimator and tax-forfeited parcels. Use the delinquent contact for an existing unpaid ledger or dated payoff instead of assuming the ordinary online payment amount includes earlier years. An estimate and a forfeited-property inventory have different scope.
For existing records, provide the parcel/account identifier, tax year and desired as-of date. Specify an unpaid collection ledger, dated delinquent publication, tax judgment, confession-of-judgment plan ledger, expiration-of-redemption notice or tax-forfeiture record. Ask which special assessments, penalties, interest, costs and later payments are included. Confirm inspection, electronic-copy, certification, tax-search and extract charges before ordering. Assessment/ownership data, an original bill and a forfeited-property sale inventory do not certify the complete current delinquent amount.
What to ask for
“I am looking for publicly available delinquent real-property tax records for Olmsted County for [tax year]. Which office maintains these records? Is there an online search or downloadable list? If not, how can I request a copy, and what fees apply?”
Have the property address, parcel number, owner name, and tax year ready when searching for a particular property.
County-specific notes
Verified denotes reviewed published access guidance, including an explicit office-only payoff route where applicable; it does not certify a tested account result. Reviewed October 28, 2026. Published forms, directions and labels were reviewed without submitting taxpayer searches. Annual notices, statements, tax judgments, payment plans, state forfeiture and later sales concern different records. No account creation, record request, bidder enrollment or payment was performed. No taxpayer rows or owner-list attachments are included.
