Murray County Auditor-Treasurer
Official county tax office and records-request routeContact the office for delinquent property tax records. This guide does not confirm an online search or current bill list.
How to find the information
Murray’s Auditor/Treasurer page identifies its property-tax office at 2500 Twenty-eighth Street, Slayton and lists the Auditor/Treasurer at 507-836-1152. Its tax administration and automatic-payment materials are separate from the tax-forfeiture process. Request an existing itemized unpaid ledger or dated delinquency publication through that office, specifying tax year and desired date. A payment-plan enrollment document does not establish an account’s current unpaid balance.
For existing records, provide the parcel/account identifier, tax year and desired as-of date. Specify an unpaid collection ledger, dated delinquent publication, tax judgment, confession-of-judgment plan ledger, expiration-of-redemption notice or tax-forfeiture record. Ask which special assessments, penalties, interest, costs and later payments are included. Confirm inspection, electronic-copy, certification, tax-search and extract charges before ordering. Assessment/ownership data, an original bill and a forfeited-property sale inventory do not certify the complete current delinquent amount.
What to ask for
“I am looking for publicly available delinquent real-property tax records for Murray County for [tax year]. Which office maintains these records? Is there an online search or downloadable list? If not, how can I request a copy, and what fees apply?”
Have the property address, parcel number, owner name, and tax year ready when searching for a particular property.
County-specific notes
