Mahnomen County Auditor-Treasurer
Official county tax office and records-request routeContact the office for delinquent property tax records. This guide does not confirm an online search or current bill list.
How to find the information
Mahnomen’s Auditor-Treasurer staff page identifies the Deputy Treasurer–Property Tax Specialist and County Auditor-Treasurer at 218-935-2545. Tax-forfeiture work has a separately listed deputy. Ask the tax staff for an existing unpaid ledger or dated publication, rather than routing an ordinary balance question to accounts payable. The office is at 311 North Main Street, Mahnomen. Online delinquent-search coverage was not confirmed from the reviewed office page.
For existing records, provide the parcel/account identifier, tax year and desired as-of date. Specify an unpaid collection ledger, dated delinquent publication, tax judgment, confession-of-judgment plan ledger, expiration-of-redemption notice or tax-forfeiture record. Ask which special assessments, penalties, interest, costs and later payments are included. Confirm inspection, electronic-copy, certification, tax-search and extract charges before ordering. Assessment/ownership data, an original bill and a forfeited-property sale inventory do not certify the complete current delinquent amount.
What to ask for
“I am looking for publicly available delinquent real-property tax records for Mahnomen County for [tax year]. Which office maintains these records? Is there an online search or downloadable list? If not, how can I request a copy, and what fees apply?”
Have the property address, parcel number, owner name, and tax year ready when searching for a particular property.
