PROPERTY TAX RESEARCH, MADE SIMPLER
Grant County, Minnesota
Where to look, which office to contact, and how to request records.
Where to obtain records
Grant County Treasurer
Official county tax office and records-request routeContact the office for delinquent property tax records. This guide does not confirm an online search or current bill list.
How to find the information
Grant’s Treasurer page identifies the office handling collection of current and delinquent real estate, personal property, agriculture, mineral-interest and mobile-home taxes. It lists 218-685-8251 and separates County Tax Information from Tax Forfeiture Properties. Ask the Treasurer for an existing unpaid ledger or the requested dated publication, specifying the tax type and year. Public online delinquency-search coverage was not confirmed in the reviewed material.
For existing records, provide the parcel/account identifier, tax year and desired as-of date. Specify an unpaid collection ledger, dated delinquent publication, tax judgment, confession-of-judgment plan ledger, expiration-of-redemption notice or tax-forfeiture record. Ask which special assessments, penalties, interest, costs and later payments are included. Confirm inspection, electronic-copy, certification, tax-search and extract charges before ordering. Assessment/ownership data, an original bill and a forfeited-property sale inventory do not certify the complete current delinquent amount.
What to ask for
“I am looking for publicly available delinquent real-property tax records for Grant County for [tax year]. Which office maintains these records? Is there an online search or downloadable list? If not, how can I request a copy, and what fees apply?”
Have the property address, parcel number, owner name, and tax year ready when searching for a particular property.
