Freeborn County Auditor-Treasurer
Official county property-tax access guidanceHow to find the information
Freeborn’s Delinquent Taxes page labels its list with an Interest Figured To date and says updates occur during the first week of the month. Ask for a fresh amount if the requested payoff date falls beyond that calculation period. For multiple delinquent years the page directs payments to the newest delinquent year first. The Auditor-Treasurer’s delinquent-tax contact is 507-377-5121; an earlier list does not reflect every later payment.
For existing records, provide the parcel/account identifier, tax year and desired as-of date. Specify an unpaid collection ledger, dated delinquent publication, tax judgment, confession-of-judgment plan ledger, expiration-of-redemption notice or tax-forfeiture record. Ask which special assessments, penalties, interest, costs and later payments are included. Confirm inspection, electronic-copy, certification, tax-search and extract charges before ordering. Assessment/ownership data, an original bill and a forfeited-property sale inventory do not certify the complete current delinquent amount.
What to ask for
“I am looking for publicly available delinquent real-property tax records for Freeborn County for [tax year]. Which office maintains these records? Is there an online search or downloadable list? If not, how can I request a copy, and what fees apply?”
Have the property address, parcel number, owner name, and tax year ready when searching for a particular property.
County-specific notes
Verified denotes reviewed published access guidance, including an explicit office-only payoff route where applicable; it does not certify a tested account result. Reviewed October 28, 2026. Published forms, directions and labels were reviewed without submitting taxpayer searches. Annual notices, statements, tax judgments, payment plans, state forfeiture and later sales concern different records. No account creation, record request, bidder enrollment or payment was performed. No taxpayer rows or owner-list attachments are included.
