Official county property-tax access guidanceHow to find the information
Cass’s Parcel Information page routes users to Property and Tax Data Search. It describes parcel data, including parcel number, lake, tax information, homestead and classification, and warns that this is parcel data only. Historic Tax Records of Cass County is a separate service with different search preparation. For a current unpaid ledger or newer records not resolved by those views, contact the Auditor-Treasurer at 218-547-7260.
For existing records, provide the parcel/account identifier, tax year and desired as-of date. Specify an unpaid collection ledger, dated delinquent publication, tax judgment, confession-of-judgment plan ledger, expiration-of-redemption notice or tax-forfeiture record. Ask which special assessments, penalties, interest, costs and later payments are included. Confirm inspection, electronic-copy, certification, tax-search and extract charges before ordering. Assessment/ownership data, an original bill and a forfeited-property sale inventory do not certify the complete current delinquent amount.
What to ask for
“I am looking for publicly available delinquent real-property tax records for Cass County for [tax year]. Which office maintains these records? Is there an online search or downloadable list? If not, how can I request a copy, and what fees apply?”
Have the property address, parcel number, owner name, and tax year ready when searching for a particular property.
County-specific notes
