Brown County Auditor-Treasurer
Official county property-tax access guidanceHow to find the information
Brown’s Delinquent Taxes page separates its delinquent-tax list from a certified list labeled payable 2025 and from confession-of-judgment information. Choose the document for the relevant year and publication date. For a past-due payment amount, the county’s payment guide directs callers to the Auditor-Treasurer at 507-233-6613. An older certified list does not establish the present balance or whether a later payment was posted.
For existing records, provide the parcel/account identifier, tax year and desired as-of date. Specify an unpaid collection ledger, dated delinquent publication, tax judgment, confession-of-judgment plan ledger, expiration-of-redemption notice or tax-forfeiture record. Ask which special assessments, penalties, interest, costs and later payments are included. Confirm inspection, electronic-copy, certification, tax-search and extract charges before ordering. Assessment/ownership data, an original bill and a forfeited-property sale inventory do not certify the complete current delinquent amount.
What to ask for
“I am looking for publicly available delinquent real-property tax records for Brown County for [tax year]. Which office maintains these records? Is there an online search or downloadable list? If not, how can I request a copy, and what fees apply?”
Have the property address, parcel number, owner name, and tax year ready when searching for a particular property.
County-specific notes
Verified denotes reviewed published access guidance, including an explicit office-only payoff route where applicable; it does not certify a tested account result. Reviewed October 28, 2026. Published forms, directions and labels were reviewed without submitting taxpayer searches. Annual notices, statements, tax judgments, payment plans, state forfeiture and later sales concern different records. No account creation, record request, bidder enrollment or payment was performed. No taxpayer rows or owner-list attachments are included.
