Where to obtain records
Wayne County Treasurer / Delinquent Real Property Tax Records
Official county property-tax access and records guidanceHow to find the information
The county Treasurer’s service says delinquent information for all Wayne County municipalities can be viewed at no charge using parcel ID or street address and city. It separately accepts delinquent real-property payment. Request the existing itemized ledger or dated forfeiture/foreclosure record when the public account view is insufficient.
For an existing-record request, provide the parcel identifier, city/township/village, tax year and desired as-of date. Distinguish the county delinquent collection ledger from a current local bill, recorded forfeiture certificate, foreclosure petition/judgment, auction result or proceeds record. Ask whether special assessments, utility charges, later adjustments, interest, fees and recent payments are included. Confirm inspection, electronic-copy, certification, research and extract charges. An assessment, payment receipt or auction catalog does not certify the complete current unpaid balance.
What to ask for
“I am looking for publicly available delinquent real-property tax records for Wayne County for [tax year]. Which office maintains these records? Is there an online search or downloadable list? If not, how can I request a copy, and what fees apply?”
Have the property address, parcel number, owner name, and tax year ready when searching for a particular property.
