Where to obtain records
Mackinac County Treasurer / Delinquent Real Property Tax Records
Official county property-tax access and records guidanceHow to find the information
The Treasurer separates Property Tax Information Search through county-linked BS&A from the online delinquent payment service and Parcels for Auction. The records office is on the courthouse second floor, Room 30, 100 South Marley Street, St. Ignace. Request an existing ledger or dated forfeiture/foreclosure record beyond the public account view.
For an existing-record request, provide the parcel identifier, city/township/village, tax year and desired as-of date. Distinguish the county delinquent collection ledger from a current local bill, recorded forfeiture certificate, foreclosure petition/judgment, auction result or proceeds record. Ask whether special assessments, utility charges, later adjustments, interest, fees and recent payments are included. Confirm inspection, electronic-copy, certification, research and extract charges. An assessment, payment receipt or auction catalog does not certify the complete current unpaid balance.
What to ask for
“I am looking for publicly available delinquent real-property tax records for Mackinac County for [tax year]. Which office maintains these records? Is there an online search or downloadable list? If not, how can I request a copy, and what fees apply?”
Have the property address, parcel number, owner name, and tax year ready when searching for a particular property.
