How to find the information

Start with the municipality where the property lies. The reviewed example below covers Topsham only. For another locality in Sagadahoc County, use the Office website link to Maine.gov’s local directory, identify the correct city/town, and ask its clerk or tax collector for the custodian of delinquent real-property records.

For Topsham property, use Tax Collection. The municipal page provides property/personal-property payment navigation and says tax inquiries may be sent to taxoffice@topshammaine.com or made at Town Hall.

For an existing delinquent real-estate report, payment history or current payoff, provide the municipality, parcel/account or map/lot identifier if known, tax years, desired as-of date and preferred inspection or electronic-copy format. Ask which existing record is available and obtain a fee estimate for copies, extracts or certification before ordering. Published office email: taxoffice@topshammaine.com.

Unorganized Territory property: use Maine Revenue Services at https://www.maine.gov/revenue/taxes/property-tax/unorganized-territory. Request the existing account or delinquency record for the township, plan/lot, tax years and desired as-of date. Property Tax Division contact: 207-624-5600; prop.tax@maine.gov. Confirm access and any fees before ordering.

What to ask for

“I am looking for publicly available delinquent real-property tax records for Sagadahoc County for [tax year]. Which office maintains these records? Is there an online search or downloadable list? If not, how can I request a copy, and what fees apply?”

Have the property address, parcel number, owner name, and tax year ready when searching for a particular property.

County-specific notes

The combined property and personal-property payment link does not establish complete historical coverage or a real-estate-only delinquency export. Specify real estate, the parcel/account, requested years and as-of date. Topsham’s collector covers Topsham, while Bath and the other Sagadahoc County local governments have separate records. Maine.gov’s local directory is a routing resource; municipal clerks are not automatically the tax-record custodian. The state clerk directory is also available at https://www.maine.gov/sos/elections-voting/find-a-municipal-clerk-or-registrar. Reviewed status applies to source/access guidance, not taxpayer liability. No taxpayer search, payment, registration or records request was submitted; no owner-level rows were downloaded or republished.

We help you locate records; we do not store taxpayer lists, determine delinquency, collect taxes, or sell tax liens. Confirm balances, payment status, deadlines, and fees with the responsible office. A tax-sale list is not a complete list of delinquent accounts.
