How to find the information

Use the City of New Orleans property-tax page to reach its payment/account service or locate an original tax bill. For a payment history, email taxresearchunit@nola.gov; for account questions or an existing delinquent-property file, contact the Tax Research Unit at 504-658-1712 with the real-estate tax number, property address and years needed. Ask for the report’s as-of date and any copy/export or certification charges. This is a City Treasury collection route, not an Orleans Sheriff or assessor payment request.

What to ask for

“I am looking for publicly available delinquent real-property tax records for Orleans Parish for [tax year]. Which office maintains these records? Is there an online search or downloadable list? If not, how can I request a copy, and what fees apply?”

Have the property address, parcel number, owner name, and tax year ready when searching for a particular property.

County-specific notes

The city’s property-tax guidance, Treasury FAQ and Paying taxes instructions were inspected. Payment history is an office email-request route. The downstream payment application and individual balances were not inspected. An individual bill lookup, a dated delinquent publication, a tax-lien offering, an adjudicated-property inventory and a judicial foreclosure list are different records. A listed year or old sale entry does not establish a current unpaid balance. A complete parishwide unpaid-only filter or bulk export was not confirmed.

An independent directory, not a government agency.

We help you locate records; we do not store taxpayer lists, determine delinquency, collect taxes, or sell tax liens. Confirm balances, payment status, deadlines, and fees with the responsible office. A tax-sale list is not a complete list of delinquent accounts.
