PROPERTY TAX RESEARCH, MADE SIMPLER
Harrison County, Indiana
Where to look, which office to contact, and how to request records.
Where to obtain records
Harrison County Treasurer; Auditor for tax-sale/redemption records
Official county tax-records access guidanceHow to find the information
The Treasurer separates real-estate tax-sale questions from personal-property demand notices and Circuit Court judgment liens. Use Treasury for the existing unpaid collection ledger; ask for the Auditor’s dated quote or certificate history when taxes were sold. The page directs sheriff-sale questions to a separate listing.
Provide the parcel/PIN or duplicate number, tax year, payable year and desired as-of date when requesting existing records. Specify current collection history, a dated delinquency publication, a tax-sale certificate/redemption record or a personal-property judgment. Ask whether assessments, penalties, costs, subsequent taxes and recent payments are included. Confirm inspection, electronic-copy, certification, research and extract charges. A valuation, payment receipt, advertised minimum bid or sheriff foreclosure is not by itself proof of every current unpaid obligation.
What to ask for
“I am looking for publicly available delinquent real-property tax records for Harrison County for [tax year]. Which office maintains these records? Is there an online search or downloadable list? If not, how can I request a copy, and what fees apply?”
Have the property address, parcel number, owner name, and tax year ready when searching for a particular property.
