PROPERTY TAX RESEARCH, MADE SIMPLER
Union County, Illinois
Where to look, which office to contact, and how to request records.
Where to obtain records
Union County Treasurer / Collector; County Clerk for sold-tax redemption
Official county tax-records access guidanceHow to find the information
The Treasurer page links Property Tax Inquiry separately from payment information and Tax Sale Info. It describes Treasury’s collection role and publishes different real-estate/mobile-home dates. Use the inquiry for available account history and ask the office for the existing unpaid ledger or dated delinquency publication.
To obtain existing unpaid-tax records, provide the parcel/PIN, tax year, payable year and desired as-of date. Specify whether you need current collection history, the annual delinquency publication, tax-sale/certificate history or a dated redemption estimate. Ask whether subsequent taxes, interest, penalties, costs and recent payments are included. Confirm inspection, electronic-copy, research, certification and extract fees with the office. Assessor valuations, ordinary property sales, trustee-auction catalogs and payment receipts do not by themselves certify every unpaid obligation.
What to ask for
“I am looking for publicly available delinquent real-property tax records for Union County for [tax year]. Which office maintains these records? Is there an online search or downloadable list? If not, how can I request a copy, and what fees apply?”
Have the property address, parcel number, owner name, and tax year ready when searching for a particular property.
County-specific notes
The page mixes a February 2026 tax-sale label with later 2026 installment dates. No upcoming sale date is inferred from that mixture; confirm the applicable year and Clerk redemption route directly. Reviewed October 28, 2026. County notices can change, and older calendars remain on some sites. No taxpayer query, CAPTCHA completion, account registration, record-request submission, bidder enrollment, upload or payment was performed. No owner-list attachments or taxpayer rows are included.
