PROPERTY TAX RESEARCH, MADE SIMPLER
Putnam County, Illinois
Where to look, which office to contact, and how to request records.
Where to obtain records
Putnam County Treasurer / Collector; County Clerk for sold-tax redemption
Official county tax-records access guidanceHow to find the information
The Treasurer Office page provides separate Property Tax Calendar, Property Tax Search, Document Library and FOIA links. Use Property Tax Search for available account information or the Treasurer FOIA/office route for an existing unpaid ledger or delinquency report not supplied by that view.
To obtain existing unpaid-tax records, provide the parcel/PIN, tax year, payable year and desired as-of date. Specify whether you need current collection history, the annual delinquency publication, tax-sale/certificate history or a dated redemption estimate. Ask whether subsequent taxes, interest, penalties, costs and recent payments are included. Confirm inspection, electronic-copy, research, certification and extract fees with the office. Assessor valuations, ordinary property sales, trustee-auction catalogs and payment receipts do not by themselves certify every unpaid obligation.
What to ask for
“I am looking for publicly available delinquent real-property tax records for Putnam County for [tax year]. Which office maintains these records? Is there an online search or downloadable list? If not, how can I request a copy, and what fees apply?”
Have the property address, parcel number, owner name, and tax year ready when searching for a particular property.
County-specific notes
The county’s assessment/GIS inquiry is separate navigation. Confirm whether the requested report includes sold taxes and ask the Clerk for a dated redemption estimate where applicable. Reviewed October 28, 2026. County notices can change, and older calendars remain on some sites. No taxpayer query, CAPTCHA completion, account registration, record-request submission, bidder enrollment, upload or payment was performed. No owner-list attachments or taxpayer rows are included.
