PROPERTY TAX RESEARCH, MADE SIMPLER
Morgan County, Illinois
Where to look, which office to contact, and how to request records.
Where to obtain records
Morgan County Treasurer / Collector; County Clerk for sold-tax redemption
Official county tax-records access guidanceHow to find the information
The Treasurer’s current page publishes the 2026 collection/judgment schedule and identifies the office at 300 W. State Street, Jacksonville. It says duplicate tax bills cost $2. Ask Treasury for the existing unpaid ledger or dated publication; the County Clerk separately lists Tax Extensions and Delinquent Taxes.
To obtain existing unpaid-tax records, provide the parcel/PIN, tax year, payable year and desired as-of date. Specify whether you need current collection history, the annual delinquency publication, tax-sale/certificate history or a dated redemption estimate. Ask whether subsequent taxes, interest, penalties, costs and recent payments are included. Confirm inspection, electronic-copy, research, certification and extract fees with the office. Assessor valuations, ordinary property sales, trustee-auction catalogs and payment receipts do not by themselves certify every unpaid obligation.
What to ask for
“I am looking for publicly available delinquent real-property tax records for Morgan County for [tax year]. Which office maintains these records? Is there an online search or downloadable list? If not, how can I request a copy, and what fees apply?”
Have the property address, parcel number, owner name, and tax year ready when searching for a particular property.
