Where to obtain records

Macoupin County Treasurer / Collector; County Clerk for sold-tax redemption

Official county tax-records access guidance

How to find the information

The Treasurer links property-tax information, while the County Clerk separately publishes Tax Redemptions guidance. A county announcement describes a Redemption tab after locating a property by PIN, owner or street address. Use the present county-linked service and ask the Clerk for a dated redemption estimate if the tab or older instructions do not resolve unpaid history.

To obtain existing unpaid-tax records, provide the parcel/PIN, tax year, payable year and desired as-of date. Specify whether you need current collection history, the annual delinquency publication, tax-sale/certificate history or a dated redemption estimate. Ask whether subsequent taxes, interest, penalties, costs and recent payments are included. Confirm inspection, electronic-copy, research, certification and extract fees with the office. Assessor valuations, ordinary property sales, trustee-auction catalogs and payment receipts do not by themselves certify every unpaid obligation.

What to ask for

“I am looking for publicly available delinquent real-property tax records for Macoupin County for [tax year]. Which office maintains these records? Is there an online search or downloadable list? If not, how can I request a copy, and what fees apply?”

Have the property address, parcel number, owner name, and tax year ready when searching for a particular property.

County-specific notes

The detailed online-search announcement dates to 2019. Its referenced service may have changed; no present-day taxpayer result or complete delinquency export was tested. Older interest/period wording is not repeated as current law. Reviewed October 28, 2026. County notices can change, and older calendars remain on some sites. No taxpayer query, CAPTCHA completion, account registration, record-request submission, bidder enrollment, upload or payment was performed. No owner-list attachments or taxpayer rows are included.

We help you locate records; we do not store taxpayer lists, determine delinquency, collect taxes, or sell tax liens. Confirm balances, payment status, deadlines, and fees with the responsible office. A tax-sale list is not a complete list of delinquent accounts.
