PROPERTY TAX RESEARCH, MADE SIMPLER
Jackson County, Illinois
Where to look, which office to contact, and how to request records.
Where to obtain records
Jackson County Treasurer / Collector; County Clerk for sold-tax redemption
Official county tax-records access guidanceHow to find the information
The Treasurer links Property Tax Lookup for bill copies and explicitly directs prior-year past-due redemption questions to the County Clerk at 618-687-7360. Its separate Delinquent Tax Properties page distinguishes the trustee’s deed/property auction from the annual sale of unpaid taxes. Ask for the account ledger or the particular dated list.
To obtain existing unpaid-tax records, provide the parcel/PIN, tax year, payable year and desired as-of date. Specify whether you need current collection history, the annual delinquency publication, tax-sale/certificate history or a dated redemption estimate. Ask whether subsequent taxes, interest, penalties, costs and recent payments are included. Confirm inspection, electronic-copy, research, certification and extract fees with the office. Assessor valuations, ordinary property sales, trustee-auction catalogs and payment receipts do not by themselves certify every unpaid obligation.
What to ask for
“I am looking for publicly available delinquent real-property tax records for Jackson County for [tax year]. Which office maintains these records? Is there an online search or downloadable list? If not, how can I request a copy, and what fees apply?”
Have the property address, parcel number, owner name, and tax year ready when searching for a particular property.
County-specific notes
An escrow payment, tax-sale payment and later redemption can affect different records. A trustee auction catalog does not cover every delinquent parcel. Reviewed October 28, 2026. County notices can change, and older calendars remain on some sites. No taxpayer query, CAPTCHA completion, account registration, record-request submission, bidder enrollment, upload or payment was performed. No owner-list attachments or taxpayer rows are included.
