PROPERTY TAX RESEARCH, MADE SIMPLER
Hardin County, Illinois
Where to look, which office to contact, and how to request records.
Where to obtain records
Hardin County Treasurer / Collector; County Clerk for sold-tax redemption
Treasurer office profile hosted by the county Treasurers associationContact the office for delinquent property tax records. This guide does not confirm an online search or current bill list.
How to find the information
The Treasurer’s association-hosted office profile lists PO Box 38, Elizabethtown, and 618-287-2207 for property-tax questions. Ask for the existing unpaid real-estate ledger, annual delinquency publication or sale/redemption record, giving the parcel reference and tax years. Confirm inspection, copy and current Clerk routing directly.
To obtain existing unpaid-tax records, provide the parcel/PIN, tax year, payable year and desired as-of date. Specify whether you need current collection history, the annual delinquency publication, tax-sale/certificate history or a dated redemption estimate. Ask whether subsequent taxes, interest, penalties, costs and recent payments are included. Confirm inspection, electronic-copy, research, certification and extract fees with the office. Assessor valuations, ordinary property sales, trustee-auction catalogs and payment receipts do not by themselves certify every unpaid obligation.
What to ask for
“I am looking for publicly available delinquent real-property tax records for Hardin County for [tax year]. Which office maintains these records? Is there an online search or downloadable list? If not, how can I request a copy, and what fees apply?”
Have the property address, parcel number, owner name, and tax year ready when searching for a particular property.
