PROPERTY TAX RESEARCH, MADE SIMPLER
Hamilton County, Illinois
Where to look, which office to contact, and how to request records.
Where to obtain records
Hamilton County Treasurer / Collector; County Clerk for sold-tax redemption
Official county tax-records access guidanceHow to find the information
The Treasurer page separates real-estate tax dates from mobile-home dates and identifies a delinquent-only tax sale. Contact the collection desk at 618-643-3313 for the existing unpaid ledger, applicable publication or sold-tax records route. The online payment link and automated phone service are separate from the office number.
To obtain existing unpaid-tax records, provide the parcel/PIN, tax year, payable year and desired as-of date. Specify whether you need current collection history, the annual delinquency publication, tax-sale/certificate history or a dated redemption estimate. Ask whether subsequent taxes, interest, penalties, costs and recent payments are included. Confirm inspection, electronic-copy, research, certification and extract fees with the office. Assessor valuations, ordinary property sales, trustee-auction catalogs and payment receipts do not by themselves certify every unpaid obligation.
What to ask for
“I am looking for publicly available delinquent real-property tax records for Hamilton County for [tax year]. Which office maintains these records? Is there an online search or downloadable list? If not, how can I request a copy, and what fees apply?”
Have the property address, parcel number, owner name, and tax year ready when searching for a particular property.
County-specific notes
The county says courthouse entry is through the East Doors. A payment service is not proof of a countywide unpaid-tax database; ask about inspection or electronic copies of existing records. Reviewed October 28, 2026. County notices can change, and older calendars remain on some sites. No taxpayer query, CAPTCHA completion, account registration, record-request submission, bidder enrollment, upload or payment was performed. No owner-list attachments or taxpayer rows are included.
