PROPERTY TAX RESEARCH, MADE SIMPLER
Clark County, Illinois
Where to look, which office to contact, and how to request records.
Where to obtain records
Clark County Treasurer / Collector; County Clerk for sold-tax redemption
Official county tax-records access guidanceHow to find the information
The Treasurer identifies its collection office at 501 Archer Avenue, Marshall and separates Tax Sale information from ordinary bills. Its guidance distinguishes real-estate tax for the previous year from mobile-home tax for the current year. Specify both tax year and payable year when asking for an existing unpaid ledger or annual delinquency publication.
To obtain existing unpaid-tax records, provide the parcel/PIN, tax year, payable year and desired as-of date. Specify whether you need current collection history, the annual delinquency publication, tax-sale/certificate history or a dated redemption estimate. Ask whether subsequent taxes, interest, penalties, costs and recent payments are included. Confirm inspection, electronic-copy, research, certification and extract fees with the office. Assessor valuations, ordinary property sales, trustee-auction catalogs and payment receipts do not by themselves certify every unpaid obligation.
What to ask for
“I am looking for publicly available delinquent real-property tax records for Clark County for [tax year]. Which office maintains these records? Is there an online search or downloadable list? If not, how can I request a copy, and what fees apply?”
Have the property address, parcel number, owner name, and tax year ready when searching for a particular property.
County-specific notes
