Where to obtain records

Champaign County Treasurer / Collector; County Clerk for sold-tax redemption

Official county tax-records access guidance

How to find the information

The Treasurer’s current tax-sale notice says Champaign County elected to acquire all delinquent real-estate taxes as trustee beginning with the 2025 payable 2026 sale. Delinquent mobile-home taxes remain offered separately to private buyers. Use the county-linked property-tax inquiry for account information and request an existing unpaid ledger or Clerk redemption estimate where needed.

To obtain existing unpaid-tax records, provide the parcel/PIN, tax year, payable year and desired as-of date. Specify whether you need current collection history, the annual delinquency publication, tax-sale/certificate history or a dated redemption estimate. Ask whether subsequent taxes, interest, penalties, costs and recent payments are included. Confirm inspection, electronic-copy, research, certification and extract fees with the office. Assessor valuations, ordinary property sales, trustee-auction catalogs and payment receipts do not by themselves certify every unpaid obligation.

What to ask for

“I am looking for publicly available delinquent real-property tax records for Champaign County for [tax year]. Which office maintains these records? Is there an online search or downloadable list? If not, how can I request a copy, and what fees apply?”

Have the property address, parcel number, owner name, and tax year ready when searching for a particular property.

County-specific notes

Some general FAQ text describes the prior private-buyer process. Use the specific 2026 notice for the real-estate/mobile-home distinction; no auction registration or taxpayer search was submitted. Reviewed October 28, 2026. County notices can change, and older calendars remain on some sites. No taxpayer query, CAPTCHA completion, account registration, record-request submission, bidder enrollment, upload or payment was performed. No owner-list attachments or taxpayer rows are included.
