PROPERTY TAX RESEARCH, MADE SIMPLER
Cass County, Illinois
Where to look, which office to contact, and how to request records.
Where to obtain records
Cass County Treasurer / Collector; County Clerk for sold-tax redemption
Official county tax-records access guidanceHow to find the information
The Treasurer/Collector publishes record-related charges separately from payment methods: a duplicate bill is $2.50 per parcel, a tax-sale e-book is $100, a paper copy is $50 and the real-estate full file is $450. Ask which existing file or publication matches the desired tax years and as-of date before ordering.
To obtain existing unpaid-tax records, provide the parcel/PIN, tax year, payable year and desired as-of date. Specify whether you need current collection history, the annual delinquency publication, tax-sale/certificate history or a dated redemption estimate. Ask whether subsequent taxes, interest, penalties, costs and recent payments are included. Confirm inspection, electronic-copy, research, certification and extract fees with the office. Assessor valuations, ordinary property sales, trustee-auction catalogs and payment receipts do not by themselves certify every unpaid obligation.
What to ask for
“I am looking for publicly available delinquent real-property tax records for Cass County for [tax year]. Which office maintains these records? Is there an online search or downloadable list? If not, how can I request a copy, and what fees apply?”
Have the property address, parcel number, owner name, and tax year ready when searching for a particular property.
County-specific notes
A full real-estate file or tax-sale book is not necessarily a current list of all unpaid accounts. Confirm present charges, format and whether sold taxes are represented. Reviewed October 28, 2026. County notices can change, and older calendars remain on some sites. No taxpayer query, CAPTCHA completion, account registration, record-request submission, bidder enrollment, upload or payment was performed. No owner-list attachments or taxpayer rows are included.
