PROPERTY TAX RESEARCH, MADE SIMPLER
Carroll County, Illinois
Where to look, which office to contact, and how to request records.
Where to obtain records
Carroll County Treasurer / Collector; County Clerk for sold-tax redemption
Official county tax-records access guidanceHow to find the information
The Treasurer FAQ says to use Property Tax Search / Pay and enter only one criterion: a 12-digit PIN with no dashes, last name, or house number with street name. It gives 815-244-0245 if those methods do not work. Use the record for bill history and ask the office for an existing unpaid ledger or current Clerk redemption route.
To obtain existing unpaid-tax records, provide the parcel/PIN, tax year, payable year and desired as-of date. Specify whether you need current collection history, the annual delinquency publication, tax-sale/certificate history or a dated redemption estimate. Ask whether subsequent taxes, interest, penalties, costs and recent payments are included. Confirm inspection, electronic-copy, research, certification and extract fees with the office. Assessor valuations, ordinary property sales, trustee-auction catalogs and payment receipts do not by themselves certify every unpaid obligation.
What to ask for
“I am looking for publicly available delinquent real-property tax records for Carroll County for [tax year]. Which office maintains these records? Is there an online search or downloadable list? If not, how can I request a copy, and what fees apply?”
Have the property address, parcel number, owner name, and tax year ready when searching for a particular property.
County-specific notes
The 2026 calendar restricts payment methods after September 25. Those dated payment restrictions do not imply that account information is unavailable. Reviewed October 28, 2026. County notices can change, and older calendars remain on some sites. No taxpayer query, CAPTCHA completion, account registration, record-request submission, bidder enrollment, upload or payment was performed. No owner-list attachments or taxpayer rows are included.
