PROPERTY TAX RESEARCH, MADE SIMPLER
Adams County, Illinois
Where to look, which office to contact, and how to request records.
Where to obtain records
Adams County Treasurer / Collector; County Clerk for sold-tax redemption
Official county tax-records access guidanceHow to find the information
The Treasurer separates Search Online Tax Records from its Tax Records page describing historical holdings. Start with the online tax-record link for an account; for a particular older record, ask the Treasurer to identify the available volume or specific record. Historical assessment and tax-sale holdings do not establish a current unpaid balance.
To obtain existing unpaid-tax records, provide the parcel/PIN, tax year, payable year and desired as-of date. Specify whether you need current collection history, the annual delinquency publication, tax-sale/certificate history or a dated redemption estimate. Ask whether subsequent taxes, interest, penalties, costs and recent payments are included. Confirm inspection, electronic-copy, research, certification and extract fees with the office. Assessor valuations, ordinary property sales, trustee-auction catalogs and payment receipts do not by themselves certify every unpaid obligation.
What to ask for
“I am looking for publicly available delinquent real-property tax records for Adams County for [tax year]. Which office maintains these records? Is there an online search or downloadable list? If not, how can I request a copy, and what fees apply?”
Have the property address, parcel number, owner name, and tax year ready when searching for a particular property.
County-specific notes
The county also publishes a separate Tax Lien Certificates/Tax Sale route. Indexed county guidance was reviewed where the native county site did not load; the guide does not promise a complete digital historical archive. Reviewed October 28, 2026. County notices can change, and older calendars remain on some sites. No taxpayer query, CAPTCHA completion, account registration, record-request submission, bidder enrollment, upload or payment was performed. No owner-list attachments or taxpayer rows are included.
