How to find the information

For delinquent real-estate tax records, contact the county’s published Billing and Collections / Treasury number, 302-855-7871. Ask for the existing delinquency report or account history for the tax years you need, its as-of date, the county/school real-property scope, and available electronic-copy or inspection options. Obtain any copy, certification or export fee estimate before ordering. The county’s published Billing and Collections contact page identifies Sussex County Administrative Office Building, 3rd Floor, 2 The Circle, P.O. Box 601, Georgetown, DE 19947. The Office website button opens the county-branded Property Records Search, which advertises owner, address, parcel and advanced lookup routes; those downstream criteria/results were not inspected. Ask the office for its current tax-account/billing service if property assessment information does not answer your collection-history question.

What to ask for

“I am looking for publicly available delinquent real-property tax records for Sussex County for [tax year]. Which office maintains these records? Is there an online search or downloadable list? If not, how can I request a copy, and what fees apply?”

Have the property address, parcel number, owner name, and tax year ready when searching for a particular property.

County-specific notes

The collection contact and address are drawn from the county’s published Billing and Collections page text available through official-source indexing, corroborated by county Finance publications. Direct inspection of that main-site page was restricted, so it is provided as a contact route rather than a verified working database. The property-search footer identifies Assessment at 302-855-7824; that is not the Billing and Collections number used here. A separately checked Munis payment URL redirected to a JavaScript/cookie browser-requirements screen, not an inspected tax-account form. No current officially published countywide delinquent file was confirmed. Absence from a payment service, a selected publication or a sheriff-sale offering does not establish that an account is paid. No taxpayer search, account registration, list download, export or payment was performed.

We help you locate records; we do not store taxpayer lists, determine delinquency, collect taxes, or sell tax liens. Confirm balances, payment status, deadlines, and fees with the responsible office. A tax-sale list is not a complete list of delinquent accounts.
