PROPERTY TAX RESEARCH, MADE SIMPLER
Montrose County, Colorado
Where to look, which office to contact, and how to request records.
Where to obtain records
Montrose County Treasurer / Property Tax Records
Official county tax-records access guidanceHow to find the information
The current office page offers TreasurerWeb for property-tax information, receipts, Statements of Taxes and tax notices. It says delinquent credit-card/e-check payments are not accepted after September 1. For existing unpaid records or a dated amount contact 970-249-3565 or etreasurer@montrosecounty.net.
For an existing delinquent real-property report, parcel account/payment ledger, Statement of Taxes Due or dated tax-lien redemption amount, provide the account/parcel/schedule reference, tax years and desired as-of date. Ask whether current delinquency, sold or county-held liens, later endorsements, interest and advertising/redemption costs are included and whether recent payments have posted. Confirm inspection, electronic-copy, certification, research and extract fees. Assessor valuations, loan foreclosures and dated sale lists do not certify today’s unpaid balance.
What to ask for
“I am looking for publicly available delinquent real-property tax records for Montrose County for [tax year]. Which office maintains these records? Is there an online search or downloadable list? If not, how can I request a copy, and what fees apply?”
Have the property address, parcel number, owner name, and tax year ready when searching for a particular property.
County-specific notes
The office moved to 320 South First Street, Suite 200. Treasurer’s Deed excess-proceeds notices and Public Trustee foreclosure notices are separate processes; the published tax-lien-sale closure is a dated notice, not a general records-access shutdown. No taxpayer query, account registration, CAPTCHA completion, public-records request, bidder registration, upload or payment was submitted. No taxpayer rows or owner-list attachments are included.
