PROPERTY TAX RESEARCH, MADE SIMPLER
Montezuma County, Colorado
Where to look, which office to contact, and how to request records.
Where to obtain records
Montezuma County Treasurer / Property Tax Records
Official county tax-records access guidanceHow to find the information
Treasurer says Review and Pay Taxes Online can show whether real-estate taxes are current or a tax lien exists and can print statements, receipts and summaries of taxes due. It explicitly says a tax lien cannot be paid online and directs calls to 970-565-7550. Request the existing ledger or a dated redemption amount through that office.
For an existing delinquent real-property report, parcel account/payment ledger, Statement of Taxes Due or dated tax-lien redemption amount, provide the account/parcel/schedule reference, tax years and desired as-of date. Ask whether current delinquency, sold or county-held liens, later endorsements, interest and advertising/redemption costs are included and whether recent payments have posted. Confirm inspection, electronic-copy, certification, research and extract fees. Assessor valuations, loan foreclosures and dated sale lists do not certify today’s unpaid balance.
What to ask for
“I am looking for publicly available delinquent real-property tax records for Montezuma County for [tax year]. Which office maintains these records? Is there an online search or downloadable list? If not, how can I request a copy, and what fees apply?”
Have the property address, parcel number, owner name, and tax year ready when searching for a particular property.
County-specific notes
The page separately lists mobile-home/personal-property and real-property/mineral-interest delinquency notices. Other recorded liens belong to the Clerk and Recorder; those are not the Treasurer’s unpaid-tax ledger. No taxpayer query, account registration, CAPTCHA completion, public-records request, bidder registration, upload or payment was submitted. No taxpayer rows or owner-list attachments are included.
