PROPERTY TAX RESEARCH, MADE SIMPLER
Santa Barbara County, California
Where to look, which office to contact, and how to request records.
Where to obtain records
Santa Barbara County Tax Collector / Property Tax Records
Official tax-records access guidanceHow to find the information
The county-linked MyTaxes entry states that unpaid property-tax bills are available online and ten years of paid bills are viewable. It separately states that login accounts are required for payment processing. Use public bill research where available and ask Treasury for an existing unpaid ledger or a dated amount if needed.
For an existing delinquent secured-property report, parcel account/payment ledger, bill copy or dated redemption amount, provide the parcel/account/assessment reference, fiscal years, desired as-of date and inspection or electronic-copy format. Ask which current, supplemental, defaulted and payment-plan amounts are included, whether recent payments have posted, and whether any power-to-sell or sale status applies. Confirm record-copy, certification, research or extract fees. A valuation roll, recorded lien, payment screen or dated sale inventory does not certify today’s unpaid balance.
What to ask for
“I am looking for publicly available delinquent real-property tax records for Santa Barbara County for [tax year]. Which office maintains these records? Is there an online search or downloadable list? If not, how can I request a copy, and what fees apply?”
Have the property address, parcel number, owner name, and tax year ready when searching for a particular property.
County-specific notes
Login for payment does not by itself establish a login requirement for all bill research. No account was registered or payment submitted. The county Property Taxes and Delinquent Taxes guidance links this service. No taxpayer query, account registration, CAPTCHA verification, records-request submission, upload or payment was made. No taxpayer rows or owner-list attachments are included.
