Butte County Tax Collector / Property Tax Records
Official tax-records access guidanceHow to find the information
Treasurer-Tax Collector links View & Print Tax Bill to a county-specific MBC search. Its Help distinguishes one Assessment from a Fee Parcel summary of current/delinquent assessments outstanding or paid in the current fiscal year. Ask the Tax Collector for older unpaid history or an existing delinquency extract.
For an existing delinquent secured-property report, parcel account/payment ledger, bill copy or dated redemption amount, provide the parcel/account/assessment reference, fiscal years, desired as-of date and inspection or electronic-copy format. Ask which current, supplemental, defaulted and payment-plan amounts are included, whether recent payments have posted, and whether any power-to-sell or sale status applies. Confirm record-copy, certification, research or extract fees. A valuation roll, recorded lien, payment screen or dated sale inventory does not certify today’s unpaid balance.
What to ask for
“I am looking for publicly available delinquent real-property tax records for Butte County for [tax year]. Which office maintains these records? Is there an online search or downloadable list? If not, how can I request a copy, and what fees apply?”
Have the property address, parcel number, owner name, and tax year ready when searching for a particular property.
County-specific notes
The department also handles delinquent court fines and health-insurance debt; those are different records. Monthly current-tax payment services are separate from a prior-year redemption ledger. No taxpayer query, account registration, CAPTCHA verification, records-request submission, upload or payment was made. No taxpayer rows or owner-list attachments are included.
