How to find the information

For certified-to-state parcels, use COSL Search by Name, choose Prairie in County and enter the listed last name (and optional first name). Alternatively choose Search by Parcel Number and use the parcel identifier from the real-property tax bill. Confirm the county and tax years in any matching record. For local delinquent real-estate records, contact the Prairie County Collector at 870-256-4137. Provide a parcel number or owner name, the tax year and whether you need one account or an existing countywide delinquent real-estate file. Ask which years remain with the collector, which were certified to COSL, and whether electronic copies or inspection are available; request a fee estimate before ordering. The Office website button opens this county’s elected-official contact listing.

What to ask for

“I am looking for publicly available delinquent real-property tax records for Prairie County for [tax year]. Which office maintains these records? Is there an online search or downloadable list? If not, how can I request a copy, and what fees apply?”

Have the property address, parcel number, owner name, and tax year ready when searching for a particular property.

County-specific notes

The Commissioner of State Lands (COSL) search concerns delinquent real-estate parcels certified to the state. It does not enumerate every unpaid county bill. County account records, published delinquent notices, auction offerings and sale results have different scopes; an absent search result does not establish that taxes are paid. Search forms and access routes were reviewed without submitting taxpayer searches. Individual balances, result completeness and bulk exports were not verified.

An independent directory, not a government agency.

We help you locate records; we do not store taxpayer lists, determine delinquency, collect taxes, or sell tax liens. Confirm balances, payment status, deadlines, and fees with the responsible office. A tax-sale list is not a complete list of delinquent accounts.
